Good posts to promote should have minimal copy, have an intriguing description of your project or product (remember, we're reaching out to your current, and new, network of people who haven't heard about it yet), have one call to action which is CONTRIBUTE or pre-order, and the link to your campaign close to the top.
Promoted posts reach out not only to your own network of followers who may not have seen any of your previous posts about your campaign in their feed, but also to strangers who will not know anything about your project or product. So your copy should be a short, clear, intriguing description, and ONLY ONE call to action--support us, contribute to my campaign, pre-order now for a huge discount, etc. Do not include additional calls to action like follow us, check us out, watch this video, go to my website, for more info, etc.
Also, you MUST include a link to your campaign or donation page. Facebook truncates posts and adds a “See More” after 477 characters, so keep your copy, and definitley your link, within that amount.
Even though you select just one post to promote and put money behind it in Storyblaster, we will put two into rotation under the same spend. This makes sure targeted audiences won't always see the same ad, and we can also see what's working best and tweak along the way (since we spread promos out over several days).
One post should include a short video clip about your project or product, if you have one. If not, then a strong image. The other should just be a LINK to your campaign page in the copy, and remove/delete the image from the template media area on Storyblaster so Facebook pulls in the hero image from your campaign page.
